1.The Ultimate Air Diffuser
Over 40 years of expertise Used in over 4,000 factories

Model AE-130N

Air diffusers used for wastewater treatment are sold in a wide variety of shapes and materials, most of them being advertised as “clog-free” and “maintenance-free”. However, the fact is that almost all of them clog up and require cleaning and replacement every few years at best and every 6 months at worst. This is a well-known fact in the wastewater treatment industry. When air diffusers are used in wastewater, the brown colour and turbidity make it impossible to directly observe the progress of clogging and general deterioration. Hence the deceptive claims in advertisements continue without end.
The OHR AERATOR is the best air diffuser available. It features a unique mechanism together with the world’s most powerful mixing functionality, leading to its use in more than 4,000 factories. In addition, it has been independently verified to operate clog-free even in slurries, which rapidly clog up other air diffusers.

2.Clog-free operation
A single large air discharge opening, 30mm in diameter

Air discharge opening

Porous air diffusers discharge air through a large number of fine pores, which results in sludgy wastewater flowing back into the pores during operation. This backflow of wastewater is then dried by the hot (70–80°C) air supply and clogs the pores by accumulating inside the diffuser.
The OHR AERATOR discharges air from a single large air opening (30 mm in diameter) then mixes it with liquid. Thanks to its unique mechanism, which mixes without obstructing the fluid flow, sludge cannot accumulate anywhere in the equipment. In addition, the inside is constantly cleaned by the strong spiral flow. It therefore never clogs, whether processing wastewater with a high sludge concentration of 20,000–30,000 mg/L, or merely operating intermittently once a week.

3.Usable for over 20 years and cheaper throughout
One OHR is equivalent to ten porous air diffusers

Easy to install without draining the tank

Because one OHR AERATOR model AE-130N is equivalent to about ten porous air diffusers in terms of air blown per unit, the number required for installation is considerably less. Furthermore, because the OHR AERATOR can be installed without draining the tank, the initial costs (including construction and piping) will, in most cases, be much less than conventional air diffusers. As previously explained, it also does not clog, remaining completely maintenance-free and not incurring any future extra costs.

4.Generates 3.3× more fine bubbles than porous diffusers

Compared to rubber porous air diffusers, the OHR AERATOR generates 3.3 times the number of fine bubbles. In addition, the alpha value, which represents the true performance of the air diffuser, has been determined to be an unprecedentedly high 1.0. Both are proof of the power of the gas-liquid mixing ability of the OHR AERATOR.
Are rubber air diffusers really efficient?

5. 1 unit, 2 roles: dissolves oxygen and prevents sludge build-up
Never choose an air diffuser that causes sludge accumulation, no matter its efficiency

with dots indicate fine bubbles that drift back and forth and contribute to oxygen dissolution

Porous diffusers discharge bubbles several millimeters to several centimeters in size, which slowly rise at a speed of approximately 0.5 m/s. Because of this, it is only possible to create a weak water flow. Insufficient agitation causes sludge to accumulate and become anaerobic, leading to a wide variety of wastewater treatment problems.
The majority of the air discharged by the OHR AERATOR is a mass of coarse bubbles. These bubbles rise rapidly at a speed of 1.8 m/s, which in combination with our provided optimum layout creates a powerful circulation of water. This flow then agitates whole the tank and diffuses oxygen. It is even powerful enough to churn up substances as heavy as lime slurry.

Because of the OHR AERATOR’s powerful gas–liquid collision and reaction capabilities, it is widely used not only for biological wastewater treatment but also for accelerating chemical reactions and for other special purposes. For example, a certain power plant uses one to oxidize waste liquid from desulfurization in a slurry with a high concentration of lime. Thanks to the OHR AERATOR’s clog-free operation and improvement to reaction efficiency, the plant now makes a saving of $250,000 per year.

Comprehensive planning based on 40 years of expertise
We also provide all the calculations of required air volumes + the method of operation

As the shapes of aeration tanks and the specifics of the wastewater are infinite in their variety, it is essential to create a custom-made aeration plan. This is particularly important because of the unique nature of the OHR AERATOR, so we create layout and piping configuration plans prior to purchase in order to maximize its performance. To that end, please inform us of the tank dimensions (length, width, water depth, etc.) and particulars of the wastewater (volume, BOD and COD, etc.). Based on this information, we will calculate the required air volumes and provide you with an optimum aeration plan that prevents sludge accumulation while maintaining the aerobic condition of the entire tank with the minimum number of OHR AERATORs.
